Sara McFadden cares about Education, our Environment, Healthcare, and Public Safety. She is a gun sense candidate and a member of Mom’s Demand Action. She wants to see Medicaid expanded, public education supported, beach access maintained, and our environment in South Florida protected from degradation and over development.
For fifteen years, Sara was a small business owner and civic leader. After the 2016 election she was inspired to do more. She joined the Collier County Democratic Executive Committee. Within 7 months she was elected State Committeewoman, 3 months later, she was appointed a Vice Chair of the state Democratic party. She formed a Coastal Coalition of 8 counties to bring state wide attention, resources, and training to SW Florida. She hired a political consultant to advise potential democratic candidates, and began to encourage people to run for office. Then, she thought, “why don’t I run myself?” This year, happily, she is part of a full democratic slate of candidates for this county.
Sara likes people and her strength is organization. She is not taking any PAC money and is supported by individual donations. Her opponent paid to get on the ballot and has support from the Koch industries, so the battle in November will be a fierce one; but Sara knows the issues and is a strong advocate of “people power.” On November 6, I urge you to vote for Sara McFadden and support her effort to bring sense to Tallahassee.
